A Canadian Taxidermy Association award winning amateur taxidermist, Rob had carved recreationally for over 20 years until he got the competition bug in 2002 and decided to carve full time in addition to his game bird farm and shooting preserve.

Although Rob credits a lot of fellow artists for helping him to fine tune his art including friends Stefane Bougie and  Lori Corbett  and all the members and friends on the international carving websites it was the meeting of 10 time World Champion Pat Godin in 2003 that really raised the bar for Rob as far as wanting to do more accurate and detailed renditions of his favorite birds. Without Pat's help, guidance and encouragement it would have been nearly impossible to accelerate the learning curve to take his art interpretations to a higher level.

Rob will do any species of North American bird from a hummingbird to a life size bald eagle to the clients specifications regarding amount of detail.

Rob accepts 2-3 commission orders per year (custom ordered birds from clients).

Rob devotes the  rest of his time to completing competition work for both Canada and the United States.

He currently is happy to be able to live work and play on his game bird shooting preserve and dog training facility near Calgary Alberta Canada sandwiched between two major Ducks Unlimited projects (Weed Lake & Taylor Marsh) where there are many opportunities to study his favorite birds.
